I am Dusty Collins. I was born and raised in Windsor, NY. Though not far from downtown Binghamton, I never got to see the real Beauty of the City. I recently moved into an apartment Downtown. I loved the idea of being in the city. After all, I am from Windsor. I grew up on twenty acres of the most beautiful, quiet countryside locals have seen. I spent many of my childhood years wandering through the woods, climbing trees, building tree houses, and some days just running through an open field aimlessly. I loved the winter time!
The newly fallen snow, so preciously placed upon everything in sight. Not a sound could be heard. Even the wires, connecting each telephone pole as far as one could see, were covered in the most beautiful white powder. It was wonderful. However, I never had the opportunity to walk to the store. Never was there a street closed off in order to erect a stage and have a "block" party. Never was it an option to order in and have some food delivered. Nor, was it possible to walk to diner for breakfast, or a deli for a sandwich at lunchtime. My house was 'smack dab' in the middle of two farms. It was an hour's worth of peddling to ride a bicycle to a friends house. The road; dirt for much of my life, well I guess it was really mud. One must see my fascination in "The City Life"
There is simplicity about me. I like to hear the facts. I like to acknowledge things for what they are, based on factual information, rather than how I want them to seem. As I was preparing to write this brief analysis of myself, I asked a friend how she would describe me. Mind you, this is no average female friend. This is a girl in which I dated for two years and recently broke up. We had lived together and been inseparable for most of the duration. So she said, "Hmmm...," it took her a few moments. "Enlightening," she started, "you have a unique perspective on life." "Oh ya, and a crazy imagination!", she asserted. She further explained of how I try to find some 'good' thing in every situation I encounter. She laughed as she tried to clarify how I never 'sugar coat' anything, rather approach things with a, 'it is what it is, I'm not going to let it ruin my day,' kind of attitude. In this aspect she informed me I kind of saw in black-and-white, but she insisted that this only happened in certain circumstances. She wanted to be sure that my vivid, colorful imagination was not excluded at anytime.
I like to push the envelope, walk the line, challenge and test all rules. I ask the questions which have no answers. I like to think about the things people most frequently pass by without giving any thought. I'm very observant, with a passion for anything with a motor or engine. When I observe things, I frequently try to relate the situation to one of a past experience of my own. I'm clever and witty and am easily able to relate most situations. My brain, or learning style, is mostly kinesthetic. I understand the mechanical aspect of how things work. I like to take things apart and investigate, in every meaning of the word. I love a challenge. Tell me I can't do something and I'll try forever to prove otherwise. Last but not least... My most valuable trait, well to me anyways, is that I live in the moment with no planning or anticipation. I kind of just let things happen around me.
